The Vision for an Open Web & The Role of RSS

In a digital landscape increasingly dominated by 'walled gardens' and opaque algorithms, the call for a more open, decentralized, and user-driven web is getting louder. The major social networks have accustomed us to an endless stream of content optimized to keep us on the platform for as long as possible—not necessarily to inform us in the best possible way.

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a modest but powerful standard that represents the antithesis of this model. It gives the user full control. Instead of an algorithm deciding what you see, you subscribe directly to the sources you trust. It's a pull principle, not a push. RSSer is built on this philosophy: we want to give you a tool to curate your own information flow, free from distractions and manipulation.

However, our vision goes beyond a simple reader. We envision a platform where one can not only consume but also discover and create. A community where the best content is surfaced not by viral mechanics but by genuine appreciation. A place where every author can publish their content and find an audience without being dependent on a central authority. This blog is the first step in that direction.
